Introducing VDURA II
At ISC 2025, we unveiled a hands-on, full-scale data challenge. It was a live demonstration of performance under pressure, designed to reflect the core requirements of modern AI infrastructure.
A Community-Focused Kickoff
We kicked things off with a high-spirited happy hour at Hofbräuhaus, co-hosted with our partners at Starfish Storage and Cornelis Networks. The event drew a vibrant mix of collaborators, industry peers, and new connections.
The turnout exceeded expectations. Colleagues, collaborators, and partners came together over steins and stories to celebrate the community that fuels this industry. From first-time ISC attendees to HPC veterans, the energy in the room was unmatched.
Taking On the Mountain: The AI Data Challenge
To highlight the physicality of data movement and processing, we introduced the AI Data Challenge, three strength-based tasks that drew lines between performance, precision, and endurance.
Special guest Hafþór Björnsson, World’s Strongest Man and widely recognized for his role as The Mountain on Game of Thrones, joined us to meet participants, distribute challenge rewards, and deliver a memorable demonstration of raw strength and athleticism. His engagement brought a unique energy to the experience and created moments attendees won’t soon forget.

Beyond the crowd engagement and challenge cards, ISC 2025 offered a valuable opportunity for deeper dialogue. We met with strategic partners to explore what’s next, discussing topics like scalable infrastructure, data velocity, and flexible storage architecture.
